2025 Output.
The team of volunteers at Norfolk Blood Bikes had another busy year.
Our year in numbers.
Input.
Covering each shift (every night, every day at the weekend and every bank holiday) requires over 28,000 volunteer hours. Add in the ad-hoc calls, presentations, events and fundraising, our team contribute over 30,000 hours of their free time.
The other required input to our charity are the cash donations from members of the public and philanthropic organisations that enable our fleet of specially liveried and equipped vehicles to make these life saving deliveries.
Norfolk Blood Bikes work hard to raise approximately £70,000 each year to cover the running costs of fuelling, maintaining and insuring the fleet and the equipment they use.
The team deliver fresh supplies to the Air Ambulance every night and then retreive and return any unused blood stock to the hospital. 365 times each year.
Output.
in 2025, collectively, the team at Norfolk Blood Bikes rode and drove more than 5 times around the world in order to ensure Norfolk patients receive the care they needed. Blood products, medicine, donated human milk or quick answers from urgently transferred test samples all help save and improve the life chances for thousands of people, young and old.
Large insulated boxes of blood products and milk, as well as small packages containing samples were picked up and moved in all weathers and all times of the night and day. Our quitest shift? One task. The busiest shift? 12 jobs involving 7 different volunteers.
“We’ll go no matter what.”
