The Great Norfolk Charity Rideout 2026
Ahead of National Blood Bike Awareness Day on Friday 14th August, 150 guests joined volunteers from Norfolk Fire and Rescue, Norfolk Blood Bikes and Norfolk Advanced Motorcyclists for the third annual tour of Norfolk.
The volunteers from Norfolk Blood Bikes arrive early and line up, ready to escort each group.
We couldn’t make this incredible event happen if it wasn’t for the collaboration with Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service and The Firefighters Charity. This year our starting point at Dereham Fire station and coffee stop at Diss fire station were supported by fire fighter volunteers.
Our guests arrive making donations and enjoying the morning sun with a coffee and bacon rolls served by the local team.
The Great Norfolk Charity Rideout aims to promote responsible riding, the beautiful county of Norfolk and the incredible work of local charities. Each year our guests participate not knowing the planned route. It really is a magical mystery tour.
This year the Southern country roads and towns featured with the groups riding through several villages, creating quite a spectacle before parading through Wymondham and Diss. Each group of motorcycles was led by a highly visible blood biker and supported by volunteers from Norfolk Advanced Motorcyclists.
The final destination was the Wicked Wheely Bike Show hosted by Fendick’s Fisheries near Whittington in the West of the county. When arriving the groups joined several hundred additional bikers to enjoy the sunny afternoon, trade stands, bike competition, fun activities, food retailers, a few cold drinks and live music.
This year, thanks to the generosity of all who participated, £1600 was raised and split between the two charities. For the Firefighters, this will go towards providing lifelong health, mental wellbeing, and practical support to serving and retired fire service personnel and their families across the UK. For Norfolk Blood Bikes this will help ensure that our team can continue to deliver potential life saving blood and clinical supplies to our hospitals and air ambulance.
Following another successful ride, plans are already being discussed for the next “Blood Bike Awareness Day on Saturday 14th August 2026. We hope to see you there!
More than 600 bikes arrived for the Wicked Wheely Show, so our bikers were made to feel right at home.
Hopefully the team have inspired a few more “advanced” riders and potentially a few more new blood bikers.
